Xcode provides developers a unified workflow for user interface design, coding, testing, and debugging. Some features may require Internet access. Xcode An IDE that cannot run its own program twice in succession is bad. One that has had this bug for several versions is really bad. It seems if an internal Apple dev doesn't notice or say something, it won't get fixed.
Numerous times we've tried using support, always to be refunded saying take it up as a bug report. And let's talk about documentation. No, there's almost no useful documentation, so let's not. Given thier billions, you would think they would spend a little on QA and documentation.
Also, Swift is not a replacement for Obj-C, so quit pushing it as if it were. And a Mac is different than an iPad for now so document it correctly. However, this version of Xcode has completely ruined user interaction. When it comes to scripts, I have no issues. Everything just works. But when it comes to storyboards, I can resize an element or drag it to another spot without weird glitches such as the element flying off the screen and getting deleted.
When I drop a textfield element and insert a default value, the text y position is so far down you can only see the top of the letter even though the font size is default and the alignment is perfectly centered horizontall and vertically.
Changing between storyboard tabs such as going to the attributes inspector causes the object you are focused on to deselect. How did that even happen? The worst part about this update is that Xcode 9 Beta 4 was a better build than this release and that was 6 weeks ago.
You basically have to update to this version to keep apps up to date and release those brand new apps to iOS 11 devices. Easy to use. Able to be factory restored by internet. Very stable kernel. The best quality hardware. Visually outstanding and handicap features too. Absolutely the best. One caveat is the weakness in the "game release" - directx has never gotten supported for game porters to make use of - however Unity game engine DOES support Apple OS.
But really - cross platform is bull anything worth it needs non-free drivers ; most apps today would be better done with XCode than to attempt cpt's. Something like Unity uses XCode that so game writers don't have to do it - they somehow have the time and money to make tools Apple has not had?
Truly apple is often 1 yr behind on "hardware version" release - but they are so much better releases they run better than a pc with "later" hardware. How To Add A Popover View Xcode 9 (Swift4.0)
XCODE allows developers to release apps that span support for users seemlessly on app store. Once released if a user doesn't upgrade their devicetheir device never stops being able to run the app software. The developer can release for many apple platforms at once.
They are not "guessing game" support each apple device is directly supported. Support is not a guessing game with apple.

The main application of the suite is the integrated development environment IDEalso named Xcode. The Xcode suite includes most of Apple's developer documentation, and built-in Interface Builderan application used to construct graphical user interfaces.
Up to Xcode 4. In Xcode 3. Starting with Xcode 4. Formerly, Xcode supported distributing a product build process over multiple systems. One technology involved was named Shared Workgroup Buildwhich used the Bonjour protocol to automatically discover systems providing compiler services, and a modified version of the free software product distcc to facilitate the distribution of workloads.
Earlier versions of Xcode provided a system named Dedicated Network Builds. These features are absent in the supported versions of Xcode.
Xcode also includes Apple's WebObjects tools and frameworks for building Java web applications and web services formerly sold as a separate product. As of Xcode 3. Stack Overflow for Teams is a private, secure spot for you and your coworkers to find and share information. While editing in the storyboard, specifically assigning a view controller to a specific class, I suddenly encountered this error when I wanted to run the project.
Please file a bug at bugreport. And now I can't run my project anymore. I couldn't find any information regarding to this anywhere else. Did anyone encounter this before? Delete the derived data of your project. Just ran into this error, and it coincided with non-available iOS versions showing for the wrong Xcode e. In theory you should be able to run xcrun simctl delete unavailable but that didn't work in this case.
Sounds like you found a bug in Xcode and should file a bug report with apple here and attach the file that it specifies with the error. In the mean time, do you have an earlier version of your project that you can revert back to? Or provide the xml of your main story board here?
Once I changed it from 'Basic' to 'Custom' It started compiling. Working in xcode 8. It worked. I had this issue on Xcode 8. However, uninstalling the Xcode, downloading Xcode 8. I'm using Xcode 9.
And content view is not constraint applicable and i'm not supposed to add constraints to it. It is already locked. But i really don't know how i added constraint to it accidentally. After deleting the constraint everything started working again perfectly fine.
Performance issues with Xcode 10.2. IDE and simulators.
When I drag from a button on the storyboard to my view controller Swift file, I only get the option to insert an Outlet or Outlet Collection. Similarly, if I create the IBAction manually and try to connect it to a button on the storyboard, I can't connect the two. This problem is only appears in one of my projects, but it happens on all the storyboards in my project. It turned that's it is the problem of mixing custom protocol adoption in extension of UIButton having IBInspectable property.
More details below. Sheer lunacy. If that doesn't work try linking from the node created by an IBAction in the margin of your code back to the storyboard. This works for me when XCode stops working. This bug is indeed super crazy. I lost hours because of it. Until now I found 2 reasons, and I'll post here maybe somebody will read and be helpful:.
If anybody is using BonMot pod, this is one possible cause. If you remove it, the IBAction will be back. Comment the extension, and the IBAction will be back. Happy coding. This apparently is a known issue on the Apple forums, but I don't know if Apple is working on it:. For me, I was trying to connect multiple buttons to one IBActionnone of the solutions worked until I switched my method signature to specify that the sender was a UIButton rather than Any.
Alright, it's and this problem still happens and if anyone is here still looking for a solution, the only way i could get it to work is to:. If extension is causing the problem, then instead of directly extending UIButton, user typealias e. I was having the same issue but it was because I was trying to connect an ImageView to an IBAction forgive me, not sure if my terminology is correct.
My solution was to delete the UIButton from the. Looks like something strange is happening in the.

It's hard to tell, but the element being dragged in the screenshot is a button. I have very similar issue when i'm remove a pod called 'BonMot' after that 'Action' is showingso that's your one of your pod remove one by one and test it.
Some behaviours are a bit strange, like the one you show here, but they are by design. This is convenient and allows you to move private interfaces into the implementation file. This is another interesting situation. Apple has its own bug trackerbut you can only see you own reports!?
Your best bet is then openradar Which is limited. Remember that synthesize is just syntactic sugar that will generate code at compilation. My guess is that your var property is conflicting with your var member. I would not say that's a bug, more a predictable issue that could be integrated in clang static analysis. Anyway, that's obviously a code typo, a human error, tools are just there to help us, or we would write assembly bytecode directly :.

Bavarious documentation states "use the synthesize directive to tell the compiler to create the accessor methods ".
Btw, my question is really not about this specific issue. Active Oldest Votes. The var instance variable is nil because you did not assign it a value.

If i change something like a checkbox "under to bar" it refresh and display well. I don't know if it's a bug on my side or a storyboard corrupt somewhere The problem is if i re-open the project or just click back to the storyboard these blue box come again and again. It's a real pain to repeat 3x the step to remove them.
